WIN House Under the Umbrella Gala

The Cause

This year marks the WIN House's 50th anniversary. We are planning to celebrate the past and empower the future at the 3rd Annual Under the Umbrella Gala presented by Brookfield Residential at the Renaissance Edmonton Airport Hotel on Saturday, November 3rd.

Our community has been the core of our growth, serving as the thread that links our past with our future. So, as we mark our 50th anniversary and look to the future and our vision of a world where women and children are safe and free from abuse in their environments & relationships, we stand ready to honour the past, embrace change, and seize opportunities. We are confident that in our second half century, we will continue to empower victims of domestic violence.

Who Will it Benefit?

It is our collective responsibility to speak up and put an end to domestic violence. The fact is, when the signs of domestic abuse are present, it affects us all. Men, women, children, mothers, fathers, brothers, sisters – every single one of us. Domestic violence can be stopped only if we speak out against it. Our Executive Director Tess Gordey said it perfectly that night, "We can act, we should act, and when children are involved we are obligated to act. WE can make a positive difference".

Generous donations and attendance at the gala will allow us to continue our programs and services for woman and children experiencing domestic violence. Over the course of 50 years, we have given nearly 40,000 women and children a safe place to stay while they rebuild their lives, free from fear and doubt – and it would not be possible without you.
