Tiny Footprints
The Cause
Tiny Footprints is an organization founded in 2016 by two amazing women; Kristina Oriold and Jen Woods. In 2013, Kristina and her husband tragically lost one of their twin daughters, Riley at birth. This loss served as her personal inspiration for the Tiny Footprints committee and Gala. Tiny Footprints is addressing a need for our Calgary community who have been impacted by or have personally experienced pregnancy and/or infant loss. The Tiny Footprints' committee is now comprised of over 40 members with their mission to increase awareness and continue to foster a supportive community so that individuals and families don't feel alone when experiencing these losses. The funding and awareness will assure that everyone has access to quality support services during their journey of grief and healing.
Who Will it Benefit?
Approximately one in four pregnancies end in miscarriage, with stillbirth and neonatal deaths numbers on top of those statistics, pregnancy or infant loss has likely impacted your family or someone you know. The Tiny Footprints' goal is to assure these families are aware of the resources so that no one has to suffer alone. The Tiny Footprints Gala continues to raise awareness so that as a collaborative they can reduce the stigma and silence surrounding pregnancy and infant loss. Tiny Footprints works alongside the Calgary Health Trust to raise funds to sustain and continue to enhance the programs of support for Calgary families that have faced these tragedies.
