Spring/Summer Community Rec Programming

The Cause

The community of Legacy is growing every day, and last year we officially launched our first recreational program, Outdoor Axe Throwing. With it being a success we are looking to continue our trend of creating unique and cost affordable programming for all members of our community and the surrounding areas. Our focus, create programs that have a low cost where all proceeds go to support future programs and offerings.

This year we want to create 3 new program offerings. Outdoor Corn Hole leagues, Oversized Dart League, as well as Bumper Soccer and Teen/Youth Nerf days/nights. To pull this off we need grant money to purchase the infrastructure to support future projects.

Our goal is to have both Spring and Summer programs offered this year to maximize our impact in the community. Last year we were able to support 16 participants throughout the summer program and saw the youth in our first program from many walks of life, from different countries and backgrounds all connect and develop close friendships. Our goal for this upcoming year is to engage with close to 100 plus community members in league play, and hundreds to 2500 through community events and ultimately create a closer sense of community and see a community thrive with a focus on inclusiveness for all! With all of our program offerings, we focus on teamwork, togetherness and community spirit and uplifting one another. After seeing the success of our first year and watching people thrive in social settings, come over anxiety and stress of new social circles and support one another, we want to grow on that success for the new year!

Without being able to provide programs that are affordable for our community members and help us raise funds, we are unable to apply to the City of Calgary to lease much needed grounds for further growth and to one day provide our community with a community space for all our residents enjoyment.

Who Will it Benefit?

The community of Legacy has approximately 7500+ community members and growing. Our effort is to support all walks of life within our community and provide engaging programs to all of it's members.
