High Performance Athlete Development Legacy and Financial Assistance Program
The Cause
The Canadian Sport Institute collaborates with Bowness high school on a High Performance Athlete Development Program (HPAD). Giving high school students further exposure to sport and sport science by accessing our space out of WinSport in Calgary AB. Our hope for this established program is to continue its legacy beyond the public school system and into the students lives once they graduate. With these funds we would have three streams of sustainability built into or built up. 1) Resources and equipment costs that may come up 2) To provide aid to students who want to participate but are in a financially strained situation that makes them unable and finally 3) a legacy fund to support students in a sport science/ kinesiology educational space beyond high school. We want to encourage students in their constant pursuit of educational wealth along with fostering a love of sport and movement into their adult years, increasing healthy pursuits, decreasing the chance for mental health issues and continuing to keep our communities healthy and thriving as they age.
Who Will it Benefit?
High School students and first year post secondary who aren't in a financially stable situation (primarily). The hope is those students would turn around and invest back into their community positively and maybe one day reinvest in our program to give back to more students.
