The Cause

Community connection through exercise and mentorship, directly improve mental health and wellness of youth and their families. Removing financial barriers that disconnect children and youth from the communities they live in is an important need that is currently under met. Northstars Football has been able to find sponsorships for a few players, however, with other programs like Jumpstart being at max capacity, we have had an influx in children who need financial help in order to play. Our goal is to ensure all kids ages 5-17 can play and be mentored within their community irregardless of financial barriers, ethnicity, or other factors. We pride ourselves in inclusion, having access to funds will allow us to expand our ability to include more children. $14,000 will sponsor 20 children for their season including equipment, insurance, etc. The impact of including these 20 children extends to their families by the connection they feel as they become part of our extended football family. These are the moments that can change an entire community through the individual families that are apart of it. in conjunction with the need to support players, we are in need of a club house, for the football family. Currently we have a donated unheated trailer the kids use. Football runs September to mid-Novemeber, the smaller kids need a place to warm up later in the season. We also run weekly BBQ's to feed the kids, and watch game films. This is very difficult out of a trailer with so many kids. Our hope is that with your donation and our community partner through in kind donations we can make a clubhouse for the football family. Belonging to something special is a lasting imprint no one can take away, it allows children to dream and empowers them to believe they can achieve greatness. All kids need a "Little Rascals" clubhouse, a permanent place of belonging.

Who Will it Benefit?

We know that a child's connection to their community is vital to their overall wellness and we want to ensure that kids in this community are supported if every aspect of their development. By supporting children, we are supporting their families as well. If you are a parent, you understand the desire to provide a good life for your children. When you are unable to meet the ambitions of your child financially, and the community reaches out to fill that need, you also feel supported as they support your child. The overreaching effects of supporting children, surpasses their immediate families and goes on to make better communities. When individuals of communities feel seen and met where they are, the impact is long-lasting and goes on to inspire further community support as well as develops our future leaders.
