Sit Ski Accessibility Initiative

Thanks to the generous support of the Field Law Community Fund Program, Nordiq Canada was able to purchase an additional sit-ski sled for our annual Para Nordic Development Camp in Canmore, Alberta. This new equipment helped us welcome more participants than ever before, with a record 22 athletes and 10 coaches. This grant helped ensure that new sit-ski athletes had access to the right tools to fully participate.

This camp is a cornerstone of athlete and coach development in Canada’s Para Nordic community. It brings together emerging athletes and seasoned mentors for a week of skill-building, education, and connection. This year’s highlights included expert sessions on biomechanics, nutrition, and race tactics, as well as an athlete-led Q&A and a final time trial.

The new sled allowed first-time sit-skiers to safely join training, gain confidence, and envision their future in the sport.

Thank you, Field Law, for expanding access and opportunity for future Para Nordic athletes.
