The Cause

The Birthday Bag Program aims to provide children between the ages of 1 to 12 years of age with a special birthday celebration by offering a birthday bag filled with essential party items, treats, and a small gift.

By providing families with the tools to create a special birthday celebration, we alleviate some of the financial burden on low-income households. We believe every child deserves to feel valued and celebrated, regardless of their circumstances.

Families can come in to pick out items for the birthday bag themselves or if they do not have time to come in they can request one to be prepared by the Food Bank one week before the child’s birthday.

Who Will it Benefit?

Target Demographic is children from ages 1 to 12 from low-income families who are registered clients of the Okotoks Food Bank or referred by community partners.
