Children and Youth Counselling Program Supplies

The Cause

Our idea is to raise funds to purchase essential items for our children and youth counselling programs. These programs support young people ages 3-18 experiencing emotional, social, and behavioral challenges such as bullying, aggression, socialization difficulties, depression, and anxiety. Through the use of play and art therapy, we provide a safe and constructive environment for children and youth to develop crucial life skills, including socially appropriate behavior, problem-solving abilities, and effective coping strategies.
With funding from Field Law, we would purchase interactive toys and art supplies such as markers, crayons, paper, snacks and organization and storage for use during both individual and group counselling sessions. Art and play serve as important tools for children and youth to communicate and express their emotions, frustrations, and fears in ways they may not yet be able to articulate verbally. Evidence shows that play and art therapy improve communication, increase self-esteem, and foster a more positive mood in younger participants, equipping them with the tools they need to face life’s challenges.

Who Will it Benefit?

Children and youth (ages 3-18) will directly benefit from the supplies used in individual and group counselling sessions, particularly through play and art therapy. These therapies offer a safe, non-verbal way for young people to express their emotions, frustrations, and fears, especially when they struggle to articulate their feelings. By engaging in creative activities, children and youth develop healthier communication skills, learn problem-solving and coping strategies, and gain greater self-confidence. This process helps them manage stress, anxiety, and other challenges.
