CLCA Community Engagement Programs
The Cause
Thank you for considering the Calgary Legacy Community Association’s idea for community programming.
The Calgary Legacy Community Association (CLCA), is a volunteer led organization that since 2019 has been registered under the Societies Act as a Not for Profit Organization. Located in South East Calgary, the CLCA is still considered a growing organization within a newer community that is approximately 50% built out. With approximately 8,000 residents at this current time, the CLCA is looked upon to provide engaging community initiatives and offerings to its membership base and surrounding communities as well as non-members.
The CLCA’s primary goal is to be able to continuously grow, and one day, hopefully provide a community center for it’s neighborhood and surrounding communities. At this time we are still far from that goal. It is with hope that by being awarded this grant application we may be able to provide the community with the CLCA’s first ongoing program option, a family safe outdoor axe throwing league. The goal of this program is that by offering a low-cost option that will be run by a community lead who has taken the time to develop the attached program guide, the CLCA can continue to develop programming that focuses on team work, cooperation, sportsmanship and community engagement. Any proceeds earned from the development of this program will be put towards our Community Building Fund for which will offer ongoing programming and activities to the community at large.
Who Will it Benefit?
The ongoing program is focused on benefitting community members that range from 12 years of age and up.
The additional benefits of the success of this program is to develop additional programming options to benefit members of our community and surrounding communities for years to come.
