The Cause

Give A Mile brings together family and friends at end of life so that they can create moments and memories that last forever. We are able to achieve this by providing air travel, using donated loyalty points (for travel) and cash (fees, taxes and travel), so that people can be together at a critical time.

Give A Mile was started in 2013 and is based in Calgary, Alberta. We are running a campaign during Christmas 2018 that will bring together family and friends with a loved one that is in palliative or hospice care.

Working with care givers and social workers, we identify individuals that do not have the financial means to travel to be with a loved one. We support those individuals with a flight so that they can re-connect with a loved one at a critical time.

Who Will it Benefit?

Give A Mile focuses on providing flights for individuals that do not have the financial resources to re-connect with a family member that is in palliative or hospice care. On occasion, the terminally ill individual is able to travel and we have supported those flights.

We anticipate providing twenty-five (25) flights during our Christmas Campaign that will benefit Albertans. These will be be individuals that do not have the resources to purchase a flight to be able to spend time with a loved and to say good bye.
