The Cause

During this time of strict hospital isolation policies, seriously ill children receiving treatments and care are under even more challenges. Visits are limited or not allowed, support services are restricted, playrooms and all activities are closed and, in a time, where these children need more love and support than ever, they are struggling. The need for activities and distraction is high in these isolation cases and each child must have their own items for hygienic purposes. Hospital budgets for materials and toys have been run dry or cut due to the pandemic. This has resulted in a peak in anxiety in children related to not only their medical experiences but the lack of support and distraction offered during normal hospital stays.

Starlight would like to ship 70 Hospital Play Packs requested by Peter Lougheed Hospital and support seriously ill children currently in hospital receiving treatments.
