The Cause

The Rocky View Chestermere Agricultural Society has been an integral part of the Chestermere and Rocky View community for over 34 years. Our mission is to foster community engagement and support the well-being and growth of our community through a diverse range of agriculturally related programs and activities. By offering exciting events such as fairs, bench shows, and rodeos, as well as educational workshops on skills preservation and beekeeping, we aim to promote lifelong learning, personal growth, and development.

Each September we host the Country Fair which has an annual attendance of around 1500 people. The Country Fair starts with a parade and then features a bull riding, women's bronc riding, a sheep scramble, mutton busting, a red ribbon contest, vendors, food trucks and more. A highlight of the Country Fair is the Kids Zone which features performances from local artists, junior firefighting challenge, bouncy castles, full size prop vehicles from movies, playground, a ninja obstacle course and much more. We would like to make the Kids Zone even bigger and better and are seeking to partner with Field Law to make a reality.

Who Will it Benefit?

Kids Zone benefits the whole community as it provides an opportunity for families, extended family members, and friends to enjoy a day out together. Children have the opportunity to watch performances with their families and participate in a wide range of activities. This community event builds strong and positive community spirit as people from all over the community come together to enjoy a day at the recreation grounds.

Field Law would also benefit from this event as, in recognition of the grant, we would promote field law on our website, on our social media, and on the print advertising at the fair. By supporting this event, Field Law would be provided great exposure to the residents of Chestermere.
