Red Deer Royals New Marching Uniforms
The Cause
The Red Deer Royals are in desperate need of new uniforms. The current uniforms were first used in 2005 and have traveled all over the world. Currently, the uniforms exist because of volunteers sewing and patching and Classic Cleaners (Red Deer Business) dry-cleaning carefully. Even with this labor of love, the uniforms are faded, dated, hot, and heavy. Marching band uniforms have evolved in the past decade to have better technology: more breathable, durable, weatherproof, and washable. New uniforms will lead to happier members-wearing the current uniform is very strenuous for these athletes. And new uniforms will be safer for members especially in the face of climate change. A newer design will help the organization stay competitive on the national and international levels. The Royals love representing Red Deer!
Who Will it Benefit?
The current Red Deer Royals membership is 72. Directly, if the new uniforms last only 10 years, approximately 750-1,000 musicians will benefit from the purchase. Indirectly, thousands of audience members of shows and parades will benefit from watching the performances of this world class show band. The volunteers who are spending time repairing and maintaining the current uniforms can spend their volunteer hours on other needed areas of the band.
