The Cause
We are a local not for profit that run back country mental health retreats. In these retreats we teach people how to safely be able to back country camp so they can utilize it as a tool for their mental health. On these retreats, there is a huge focus on noticing the parallels between daily life stress and how we can face them with the same strategies as climbing mountains and being in the back country. We do focused meditations, we climb mountains to push ourselves physically. When you are in the mountains you are submerged into natures beauty, but you also face a lot of challenges of discomfort in order to reach your goal of a summit.
Who Will it Benefit?
This benefits any of the participants who come on our retreats. We have an open door policy for who can apply and join our retreats. This means that people from all walks of life can benefit. Women, men, moms, students, social workers. We aim to help everyday people, give them a program where they have an opportunity to disconnect with the hustle and bustles of day to day life, reconnect with themselves and discover how strong they are to take on the things they are facing when they get back to their day to day.
