Take Back the Alley Project

The Cause

To create attractive and safe alley ways in my community - Alberta Avenue. Painted murals on fences, a general cleanup of the alley way with installation of more lighting to create safer spaces and deter crime and individuals from dumping in our neighbourhood. A community project bringing neighbours together to work on their alley way within their block. Complete with a celebration meal once the project is complete.

Who Will it Benefit?

This project will not only benefit the individuals living in Alberta Avenue but the City of Edmonton as well by having attractive spaces that residents can take pride in. Having active, vibrant alley ways will help to reduce crime and active drug use in our neighbourhood. I hope to work closely with the members of the EPS to see how this project reduced crime in the project areas. Having neighbours connecting on a work project will help to reduce isolation and decrease mental health issues in our neighbourhood.
