The Cause

Since 1995, Wings of Hope has provided essential financial assistance to breast cancer patients at the Tom Baker Cancer Centre in Calgary. Our mission is to alleviate financial stress so patients can focus on their recovery.

We are requesting $6,000 in funding, which will provide critical support to breast cancer patients by covering essential expenses such as rent, utilities, and grocery reimbursements. This assistance helps ease financial burdens, allowing patients to prioritize their health and well-being during treatment.

In 2023, Wings of Hope provided critical financial assistance to breast cancer patients by reimbursing them for essential living expenses. Recipients submitted their receipts for expenses, and the program covered:

- Rent or mortgage payments for 68 individuals
- Grocery reimbursements for 65 recipients
- Utility bill payments for 21 patients

With support now raised to $6,000 per recipient, this aid offers much-needed relief, enabling patients to focus on their recovery without the added stress of financial insecurity. Many recipients have expressed how this assistance has provided stability during a difficult time.
