Expansion and Enhancement of the UAH Pet Healing Program

Thanks to the generous support of Field Law we are now able to support the Volunteer Dog Handlers with some of their expenses, such as personalized cards with the dog’s picture and story that are left with the patient after the Pet Healing visit. We have also now been able to provide much deserved dog treats for our hard working pups! The Field Law grant has also made it possible for us to host the first Recognition and Appreciation Event for our volunteers to celebrate successes and share stories from their important volunteer work, this is an important milestone for our program and one we completely owe to Field Law’s generosity. The support also allowed us to ramp up our recruitment efforts and we were able to nearly double the number of our Volunteer Dog Handlers in past year.

We are so grateful that your committee appreciates the value of our University of Alberta Hospital Pet Healing Program. This type of encouragement from the community means so much to our dedicated Volunteers and their furry little friends. The Pet Healing program has shown to be an invaluable asset for our patients. Field Law please keep up the wonderful community giving program that you have put it place.
